His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum officially opened the University of Birmingham’s iconic new Dubai campus in Dubai International Academic City (DIAC). During the ceremony, the University marked the next step in its long-term commitment to establishing Dubai as a regional hub for world-class higher education. Dubai Assignment Masters also provides assistance to Birmingham University students. At the landmark ceremony, Professor Adam Tickell, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Birmingham, as well as Lord Karan Bilimoria, Chancellor of the University of Birmingham, attended. Since January, students have been living on the campus, which is situated opposite Dubai’s first purpose-built student housing community. To enhance student learning and research, the university offers flexible learning spaces as well as formal teaching spaces.

A new international teaching qualification aimed at developing high-quality teachers around the world has been announced for the University of Birmingham Dubai’s School of Education by the UK government. A new global pilot program for international qualified teachers (iQTS) was approved by DfE experts.

A Postgraduate Certificate in Education:

Primary (iQTS) will be offers at the University of Birmingham Dubai campus in September 2022. English Initial Teacher Training (ITT) providers worldwide will deliver iQTS, which is equivalent to English-qualified teacher status (QTS).

In addition to developing local talent, the qualification will increase the pool of quality teachers around the world and facilitate international mobility within the teaching profession. There are foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs available at the University of Birmingham Dubai.

In support of a series of new programs as part of the institution’s growth, the University of Birmingham Dubai is hiring more than 40 new academics. In April, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai’s Executive Council, opened the University’s new smart campus in Dubai International Academic City (DIAC). The university has more than 75 academic staff. Up to 4,500 students will eventually be able to attend the campus, which can currently accommodate up to 2,900 students.

There are leading professors, researchers, and scientists from around the world among the new academics. The new faculty will lead more than ten new courses on topics such as AI and machine learning, data science, finance, public health, environmental law, marketing, and construction. January will also see the launch of several new specialty courses. Additionally, the new academics strengthen the UAE’s position as a global hub for higher education by supporting the university’s world-leading undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

The University has welcomed 41 new academics across a variety of schools. Seven of them are in the International Academy, six in the Business School, five in the School of Computer Science, four in the School of Geography, three in the Institute of Cancer and Genomic Sciences, two in the Institute of Psychology, two in the Birmingham Law School, two in the School of Nursing, two in the School of Mathematics, one in the School of Engineering, one in the School of Education, two in the School of Biomedical Sciences, one in the School of Social Policy.
